Support for the Ukrainian Defense Forces continues. For example, three pickup trucks and 25 DJI Matrice 4T quadcopters have been purchased for the 12th Special Forces Brigade "Azov" of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, which are already heading to the front lines.

As noted by the head of the region, Oleksiy Kharchenko, military units that apply to the regional authorities independently determine their needs. And the regional state administration, in turn, carefully checks the submitted proposals. They are considered at a meeting of the Regional Defense Council, which includes law enforcement officers. And only then are the necessary funds allocated.

In the communities of Luhansk region, systematic support continues for defenders, veterans, families of deceased and missing Defenders, released from captivity, and other residents in need of assistance.

In particular, in August, the Starobilsk community allocated 755 thousand hryvnias for social payments: assistance was received by military personnel, families with children, and a resident who needed funds for treatment.

In the Krasnorichensk community, over 1 million hryvnias have already been provided to support the defenders and their families, including 46 veterans and five families of the fallen Defenders. Separate assistance was provided to veterans who were discharged due to health reasons, those who were injured, and those with disabilities as a result of the war.

In the Kolomyichka community, as of September 1, targeted financial support for military personnel, veterans and their families amounted to 1.182 million hryvnias. The largest portion of funds – 858 thousand hryvnias – was received by 33 combatants. The funds were also directed to the treatment of Defenders, support for the families of those killed, those released from captivity and family members of missing servicemen.

At the same time, the community launched a small and medium-sized business development program "Strong Business - Powerful Community" for 2026-2029, for the implementation of which 800 thousand hryvnias have been allocated this year. It is designed to help veterans and their family members start or develop their own business.

The Siverskodonetsk community continues to provide assistance to residents for treatment: another 23 people received a total of 203,460 hryvnias under the "Care" program.

The rehabilitation of residents of Luhansk region with respiratory diseases remains an important area. In 2026, 64 people – 35 children and 29 adults – recovered in specialized sanatoriums, and the vouchers are provided free of charge.

Support for defenders, social protection of the population, assistance to veterans and their families remain among the priority areas of work of the Luhansk region.
