Dear Ukrainians!
For a significant part of the day today in Kyiv and in the region – in Boryspil, in Brovary – work continued after the Russian strike. It was a combined strike: a lot of ballistics, cruise missiles, there were drones. Unfortunately, ballistics is the most difficult thing right now. If the percentage of cruise missiles shot down in this strike is about 90%, then the situation with ballistics is much worse. Patriot missiles are needed, this is something that only our partners can provide. At all levels, we are proving to them both our need and the fact that we know that our partners can fill this need. We are not talking about gifts. This is about Ukraine's readiness to buy weapons. It is important that there are solutions – appropriate political decisions of partners, and primarily in the United States.
I am grateful to everyone who really helps Ukraine defend itself and save people's lives. This Russian strike alone killed 16 people. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Almost 50 more people were injured. More than two hundred objects were damaged. Only houses - 86. Children's hospital, social infrastructure, commercial facilities. Russia continues its war against people and life, and it can only be stopped by force, only by joint work. And no one should be left alone against such an enemy. We will definitely respond to this Russian strike in the same way as to other Russian strikes - we will respond quite fairly and far-reachingly. Ukrainian long-range capability will receive even more resources.
Today I also signed decrees on new sanctions - several packages. Against the Russian military complex, against those individuals who have become part of the Russian way of life in one way or another and maintain ties with this state despite even such a war. These are collaborators in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, and former figures from Ukraine who are now somewhere out there, in Europe, but with documents, connections and soul they are in Russia. We will continue our sanctions work and combine our sanctions in Ukrainian jurisdiction with the sanctions of partners.
And one more thing.
We are preparing a decision in the diplomatic team - new approaches are needed in some areas, and in America in particular. Appointments will be made after appropriate consultations. Ukraine needs results.
I thank everyone who works for our state! I thank everyone who defends Ukraine, who defends Ukrainians.
Glory to Ukraine!
