Article 47 of the Law of Ukraine "On Compulsory State Pension Insurance" provides that the pension is paid at the place of actual residence of the pensioner within Ukraine indicated in the application, regardless of his declared or registered place of residence.
Payment of pension (monthly lifetime cash support) and insurance payments under insurance against industrial accidents and occupational diseases that caused the loss are made by the body of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, in which the person was last registered, or at the request of the recipient: at the address of his declared/registered place of residence in Ukraine; at the place of residence (stay) specified in the application in the territory controlled by Ukraine (clause 5 of the Procedure for the payment of pensions (monthly lifelong cash support) and the payment of insurance payments under insurance against accidents at work and occupational diseases that caused loss of working capacity to persons who temporarily reside outside Ukraine, or reside in the territories of Ukraine temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation, or who left the territories of Ukraine temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation and reside in the territory controlled by Ukraine, approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 299 dated 11.02.2025).
If a pensioner has moved, including from temporarily occupied territories, and indicates an address in the territory controlled by Ukraine as his actual place of residence, and receives social benefits at this address (benefits for paying for housing and communal services, housing subsidies, etc.), it is advisable to transfer all payments to his new place of residence upon his application.
Transferring pension and insurance payments to the actual place of residence guarantees timely receipt of payments after moving to another region of Ukraine.
The legislation defines the methods for submitting an application for the transfer of pension payments to a new place of residence:
in paper form – when contacting any selected service center of the Pension Fund of Ukraine;
in electronic form - through a personal account on the web portal of electronic services of the Pension Fund of Ukraine using a qualified electronic signature (QES).
