The SBU reported on the suspicion in absentia of "deputies of municipal councils" created by the occupiers in Luhansk region: among them are the militants "Night Wolves" and "Party of Regionals"
The Security Service of Ukraine continues to document the criminal activities of collaborators who cooperate with the enemy as part of the so-called "urban and municipal districts of the LPR" in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk Region.
During April-May of this year, 13 more defendants were charged in absentia under Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaborative activities). It was established that after the pseudo-elections of 2023, they became part of the illegal “representative bodies” created by the occupation administration of the Russian Federation.
Among those involved are two former militants who participated in the war against Ukraine on the side of the aggressor.
One of them has been fighting against Ukraine since 2014. He is currently a “deputy” of the fake “Council of the Lutugynsky Municipal District” from the “United Russia” party. In addition, the defendant works as a children’s coach and heads regional branches of Russian sports organizations. Using the sports infrastructure, he contributes to the legalization of the occupation authorities and spreads Russian propaganda among children and youth.
Another “municipal deputy” participated in the so-called “svo.” The collaborator from the “LDPR” is responsible for the military training of youth in the occupation power structure of Rovenyok.
It was also established that he is a member of the local branch of the pro-Kremlin motorcycle club "Night Wolves - Donbas", which openly supports the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
Among the suspects are also two former members of the “Party of Regions” who joined the ranks of “United Russia” after the occupation. The interests of the Kremlin political force in the illegal “municipal councils” are represented by a businessman from Lutuhino and the former head of the Georgiyivka village council.
In addition, the Security Service has collected evidence on other enemy accomplices who became "deputies" of puppet "municipal district councils" in Alchevsk, Antracyt, Dovzhansk (formerly Sverdlovsk), Svatove, Severskodonetsk, and Starobilsk.
Their activities are aimed at legitimizing the temporary occupation of the Luhansk region, its illegal integration into the Russian Federation, supporting the occupation troops, and spreading Kremlin propaganda.
Collaborators face up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Employees of the Main Directorate of the SBU in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, under the procedural guidance of the Luhansk Regional Prosecutor's Office, are carrying out operational and investigative measures to identify and bring to justice all persons involved in supporting the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
