The next tranche of over UAH 120 million was directed by the Luhansk region to support the Defense Forces
"A number of decisions have been made in the region to support the Defense Forces and communities. The Defense Council of the Luhansk region approved the allocation of UAH 120.2 million for the needs of 17 military units for the purchase of unmanned aerial vehicles, electronic warfare equipment, vehicles, and other special equipment," said the head of the Luhansk region, Oleksiy Kharchenko, during a weekly briefing.
The Rubizhna community also continues to implement the program to support military personnel and allocated 810 thousand UAH for one-time payments to Defenders, the wounded, and persons who became disabled as a result of the war.
The Head of the Regional State Administration once again commented on the issue of reforming the Luhansk OVA, which was considered at a meeting of the Temporary Investigative Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the investigation of possible violations of the legislation regarding the use of state and local budget funds aimed at supporting IDPs.
He emphasized that the goal of the reform is to consolidate and update the functions of structural units of the regional state administration, taking into account the scope of tasks performed and powers determined by the security situation, temporary occupation of the region's territory, and available resources.
Staff optimization will allow saving almost UAH 10 million by the end of the year, and he also emphasized the approach according to which functions should be reduced first, and only then the number of employees. Currently, 743 staff units are provided for in the Luhansk OVA, of which 341 are actually employed.
Oleksiy Kharchenko reported that the Luhansk Regional Children's Clinical Hospital, relocated to Lubny in the Poltava region, is developing rehabilitation and palliative care, and the institution continues to expand the range of medical services and has 49 inpatient beds.
Finally, the head of the region recalled that the "Unconquered Luhansk Region" football tournament will be held in Kyiv on June 6 and called on Luhansk residents to participate in the competition either as part of amateur teams or as fans.
