The Luhansk Region Police reminds citizens of the need to declare found or received firearms and ammunition.
Declaring a weapon exempts a person from criminal liability for its illegal possession and gives them the right to legally keep it for the duration of martial law.
Citizens who have already completed the declaration procedure have been given the opportunity to legally store weapons. During registration, police officers explain to owners the rules for the safe carrying, storage and transportation of firearms and ammunition, as well as responsibility for violating the established requirements.
We remind you that on November 25, 2024, the Law of Ukraine "On Ensuring the Participation of Civilians in the Defense of Ukraine" entered into force to improve the procedure for obtaining, declaring, and handling firearms.
If you have found or received a firearm and wish to keep it during martial law, you must immediately contact a National Police unit to declare it.
Declare your weapon to the police - store it responsibly.
