This week, Oleksiy Kharchenko, head of the regional military administration, led a delegation from Luhansk Region at the IV International Summit of Cities and Regions “Partnership. Resilience. Readiness,” which took place in Kyiv with the participation of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and over 500 representatives of Ukrainian and international institutions.
The event emphasized the importance of interregional cooperation, community recovery, and attracting international support for the reconstruction of territories.
He also reported that the centralization of the process of providing assistance to the Defense Forces from local budgets of the Luhansk region allowed for faster decision-making and stronger control over expenditures.
In the last month alone, about 120 million hryvnias were allocated to support the front, with each request from military units being processed by the Transparency and Accountability working group and approved by the regional Defense Council.
In addition, Oleksiy Kharchenko handed over to the units of the Luhansk Region Police Department two armored off-road vehicles and an ATV, purchased with subvention funds, to strengthen police work in the combat zone. The head of the Luhansk Region stressed the importance of ensuring the efficiency and safety of law enforcement officers.
As part of other social initiatives, a large family from the Chmyriv community, raising seven children, received a 225 square meter residential building in the Kyiv region as part of the "Home Again" project, which is being implemented with the support of international partners and charitable organizations to provide housing for internally displaced persons.
The Kreminsk community paid 190 thousand hryvnias in financial assistance to seven residents, including wounded soldiers, mobilized citizens, and families of deceased Defenders, while the Chmyrivsk community continues to implement housing initiatives for IDPs in cooperation with international funds.
