Information from the Pension Fund of Ukraine on the renewal of pensions for persons whose payments were suspended from 01.04.2026

The legislation stipulates that pensions/insurance payments are paid to persons residing in the territories of Ukraine temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation or who, during the temporary occupation of the territories, left for the territory controlled by Ukraine, provided that they do not receive a pension from the pension authorities of the Russian Federation. The person himself must confirm the fact of not receiving a pension from the Russian Federation.

For those recipients who underwent physical identification in 2025-2026, but as of February 1, 2026, had not submitted a notification of non-receipt of a pension from the Russian Federation, payments were extended until April 1, 2026 (in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated February 3, 2026 No. 126).

If a notification of non-receipt of payments from the Russian Federation has not been submitted and the payment of the pension has been suspended since April 1, 2026, then its renewal is possible on the basis of the pensioner's application for the renewal of the pension payment, which indicates information about the non-receipt of payments from the Russian Federation (paragraph 14-4 of the Final Provisions of the Law of Ukraine “On Compulsory State Pension Insurance”).

Important! Pension payments will be resumed from the date of suspension if an application for renewal, which includes information about non-receipt of payments from the Russian Federation, is submitted by the end of the current year.

You can submit a corresponding application in person at the service center of the Pension Fund of Ukraine or through the web portal of electronic services of the Pension Fund of Ukraine using a remote qualified electronic signature “Diia.Signature” (“Diia ID”), created using the mobile application of the Unified State Web Portal of Electronic Services (Diia), or in the case of establishing the identity of the recipient by the bodies of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in the video conferencing mode in compliance with the requirements of the legislation in the field of electronic trust services, during which documents certifying the identity are presented.

Persons temporarily staying abroad may indicate the necessary information in the application for the appointment, renewal and extension of pension (monthly lifelong cash support), insurance payments (Appendix 1 to the Procedure for submitting and processing documents for the appointment (recalculation) of pensions in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Compulsory State Pension Insurance”) and send it together with a certificate of survival and additional documents: a copy of the passport, identification code and certificate of temporary residence abroad (with translation) by registered mail to the address of the Main Department of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in Luhansk region: 157 Vyacheslav Chornovola St., Cherkasy, 18003.
