The government expands support for internally displaced persons - changes have been made to the provision of housing assistance

The government is expanding support for internally displaced persons - changes have been made to the provision of housing assistance. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.

By Government Decision:

1. The duration of payments is extended.

Now the most vulnerable categories of displaced people will be able to receive state support for another six months longer.

2. Support for IDP children is being strengthened.

Regardless of the family's income, the payment will be granted from February 1, 2026, if the application is submitted by May 1, 2026.

3. The review of payments for disabled IDPs is being updated.

These are people who previously had their housing benefits terminated due to exceeding the income threshold. Due to the increase in the subsistence minimum, such people can now apply for a review.

"If the application is submitted by May 1, 2026, payments will be accrued from January 1, 2026. If you apply later, the accrual will take place from the month of submission of the application," noted Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.
