The head of the Luhansk region is actively involved in resolving key issues in the region and supporting citizens in difficult war conditions.
During the weekly briefing, he reported on the regional authorities' proposals to introduce remote inspection of damaged facilities, the implementation of which will allow residents of Luhansk region to claim compensation for lost housing. This was discussed during a meeting of the Coordination Center for Management of Regions in Which Military Operations Are Underway or Temporarily Occupied by the Russian Federation. Oleksiy Kharchenko emphasized that currently IDPs from temporarily occupied territories are deprived of the opportunity to obtain documentary confirmation of the destruction of real estate, which creates unequal conditions compared to homeowners in controlled territories, and called for the acceleration of the development and adoption of a relevant resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
Also this week, the head of the regional state administration met with representatives of the Luhansk Regional Youth Council. He emphasized that young people should be involved in all spheres of life, attract intellectual resources and act as lobbyists for the interests of the Luhansk region, and called for joint development of ideas and promotion of projects that will help solve the problems of the region.
Communities in the region are increasing social support for their residents. The Seversko-Donetsk Military District has paid almost two million hryvnias to 72 servicemen under the Comprehensive Support Program, including mobilized, volunteers, and Defenders who were injured or participated in hostilities.
Within the framework of the Social Support Program for Military Personnel for 2026, the Kreminsk community allocated 260 thousand hryvnias for treatment and support for families, and the Krasnorychensk community allocated 160 thousand hryvnias to seven Defenders and one family member of the deceased.
In the Bilovodsk community, in February, material assistance in the amount of 330 thousand hryvnias was paid to 23 people, including participants in hostilities and people with disabilities resulting from the war.
In the Kyiv region, 400 IDPs received food kits and items thanks to cooperation with the Ukraine in the Palms charity foundation and the Lysychansk Community Resilience Center.
The Rubizhna community provided almost 300 thousand hryvnias in material assistance to 52 residents, including participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident and persons in need of treatment.
All these efforts are accompanied by coordination at the level of regional authorities and international organizations to most effectively attract assistance and support to residents of Luhansk region and IDPs.
Oleksiy Kharchenko emphasized that the expansion of social programs does not affect assistance to the front. This week, the Defense Council of the Luhansk region approved another tranche for the purchase of special equipment for the needs of the Defenders of Ukraine.
