The Dovidka.info project, funded by the European Union, has begun a new two-year phase of work. This is a continuation of the cooperation in 2022–2023 to adapt to the new challenges of war.
The main task is to help Ukrainians receive even more targeted, verified, and practical information about security, actions in crisis situations, and adaptation to life during war, with special attention to people in frontline and border regions, older people, and youth.
Within the new two-year phase, the Dovidka.info team will create and distribute safety materials in various formats — for digital platforms, radio, and print publications. This approach allows reaching people with different information habits, particularly in communities where internet access may be unstable.
The team has already started working with seven regional newspapers in Sumy, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, and Chernihiv regions.
The first episodes of the program "How to Live with This?" on Ukrainian Radio have also been released. These materials are also available in the format of a video podcast on YouTube and an audio version on digital platforms.
"We are continuing the important work that we started together with the European Commission in 2022–2023, and expanding it in accordance with new challenges. Our task is to ensure that people in the most difficult circumstances have clear, verified information at hand: how to act, where to seek help, how to maintain resilience and not lose hope," — Mykola Balaban, Deputy Head of the Center for Strategic Communications.
The first episode of the program "How to Live with This?" is dedicated to the story of Volodymyr, whose family survived a missile strike: the missile hit a few meters from the house and completely destroyed their property. Volodymyr, his wife and two four-year-old children survived because they were in shelter at the time of the strike. In the program, he shares his experience of how the family started life from scratch, how they survived the first days after losing their home, and how they began their recovery.
Programs and materials within the project are created to:
- explain how to act in the most difficult situations;
- give people practical algorithms and instructions;
- reduce panic and vulnerability to manipulation;
- maintain a sense of support and hope.
The content is produced by the team of the NGO "Effective Communications" in cooperation with the Center for Strategic Communications, as well as with national and regional media.
