The Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine monitors the actual state of implementation of powers in the field of consumer rights protection by local self-government bodies.

In accordance with Article 101 of the Constitution of Ukraine and Article 1 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights”, the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights exercises parliamentary control over the observance of constitutional rights and freedoms of man and citizen, in particular regarding ensuring the right of citizens to protect their rights as consumers.

In order to assess the actual state of implementation of powers in the field of consumer rights protection by local self-government bodies, identify the reasons for improper implementation of such powers, and prepare proposals for improving mechanisms for ensuring the right of citizens to protect their rights, the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine conducts appropriate monitoring.
