This is a day of mourning and a reminder of the thousands of lives torn apart by war, and of the pain still carried in the hearts of those waiting for the return of their loved ones.
Luhansk region is one of the most painful spots on the map of Ukraine. As a result of Russian armed aggression, only since February 24, 2022, the following has been officially documented in the region:
- 710 civilians killed, including 27 children;
- 813 injured, including 41 children;
- 2,032 people missing under special circumstances, including 813 children.
Behind these numbers are real people: our neighbors, colleagues, friends, family. Their absence is a wound that does not heal.
We understand the depth of your pain. The state continues to do everything possible to establish the fate of every missing person, return the living home, and honor those who are no longer with us. Every life is priceless, and no person will be forgotten.
Luhansk region knows what it means to wait and hope. We know what it means to lose and not give up. And it is this belief in justice and in our own strength that makes us invincible.
We bow our heads to all the families who live in uncertainty and pain every day.
We are with you. We are fighting together for the truth to prevail and for every Ukrainian to be protected.
We remember all the missing. We fight for everyone.
