Approved our new operations today: if Russia does not want diplomacy, there must be coercion for diplomacy - President's address

I wish you health, dear Ukrainians!

Today there were important reports from the Security Service of Ukraine and the military about the use of our Ukrainian drones - about Ukraine's long-range sanctions. The level is already higher, the distance is already greater. One and a half thousand kilometers is not news. I am grateful to all our soldiers of the Security Service and the Armed Forces, our intelligence that are involved, for this accuracy. Russia's oil industry, Russia's military logistics, military production - all these are completely legal and fair areas of our long-range sanctions. It is important that Ukrainian soldiers are also using our force against Russian enterprises that produce guided aerial bombs. This is a special threat. All components of protection against this are needed. Counteraction to Russian military aviation, counteraction to their military industry, pressure on the component base through restrictions on supply schemes, and, of course, our drones, our missiles. We are already recording a decrease in the number of use of guided aerial bombs on part of the front. Today, I also approved our new operations: if Russia does not want diplomacy, there must be coercion for diplomacy. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine provides the necessary supplies.

We also spoke today with foreign intelligence. We have clear documents – Russian documents – that Russia considers our work on arms exports and bilateral security agreements to be a specific threat to itself. The political leadership of the Russian Federation has set itself the task of disrupting Ukraine’s access to such new investments in the defense industry. We will counteract this. Ukraine’s national interest is to engage in direct security work with all those regions, with those countries that are really strong and can secure long-term agreements: financial, also on joint weapons production and energy supplies to Ukraine. This should be a permanent and mutual benefit for Ukraine and for our partners. Of course, the Russians are particularly irritated by our contacts in the Middle East and the Gulf. We know this. We also know about the difficult attitude of our other partners to this, who would like to diminish the independence of our state. We consider this to be their mistake. We will ensure the national interests of Ukraine as our state needs. Diesel for Ukraine when there is instability. Money for the state budget. Joint production and supply of deficits to Ukraine. These are the concrete results of our agreements - our security cooperation and the spread of Ukrainian military expertise. Today there was also a report from the Coordination Headquarters - all those who are working to release prisoners. Military and civilian - we remember all those who are in Russian captivity. This year alone, we have already held five events to return our people, we managed to return more than a thousand Ukrainians - 1036. I want to thank everyone involved in this work, I thank everyone who provides mediation. I especially want to note our brigades, our soldiers at the front, who are fighting bravely, effectively and replenishing the exchange fund for us, for Ukrainians, for Ukraine. We very much hope that we will be able to carry out the next stages of exchanges. We are checking each surname.

And one more thing.

Now I have already signed a new sanctions package against Ukraine - a significant package - including on subjects from Belarus. This is a signal to many of our partners that it is worth putting pressure on them to still reduce the level of this war, its intensity. Russia does not have good will, it must be forced to take certain steps that are necessary to reduce aggression, and let them then call it their "gestures of good will". Belarus must not be drawn into the war. There must be no operations against other European countries. There must be a decent peace in this war of Russia against Ukraine. Thank you to everyone who is fighting and working so that Ukraine has exactly this future.

And one more thing.

There is a decision by the United States today - exactly what we agreed on Sunday, at the conference in Chernobyl, about the necessary funds to restore the confinement, which closes the fourth power unit. America has allocated $100 million. The confinement was damaged by a Russian strike drone, everything needs to be restored. An important step of American support, and we are also working with our other partners so that there are all guarantees for energy security, for nuclear security. Thank you to everyone who is with us, who is with Ukraine!

Glory to Ukraine!
