Dear Ukrainians!
Today, the new government of Ukraine, headed by Serhiy Koretsky, began work. His strong point is working in state-owned energy companies. He came to Ukrnafta, he changed the processes in the company after oligarchic control - thanks to Serhiy, Ukrnafta began to work really for our state. Naftogaz went through a difficult winter, despite all the Russian attacks, Ukraine had gas. It is important to fully prepare for the next winter. Of course, we are investing as much as possible in Ukraine's long-range capabilities, in our mid-strikes, in order to make it as difficult as possible for Russia to increase its offensive against Ukraine and prolong this war. But in any scenario, Ukraine must be fully prepared to protect life, protect its people, and ensure the passage of the winter. This is our main joint Ukrainian task for the new government. There will also be changes in work with partners: we need more speed in implementing agreements.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine will continue all work in support of combat brigades - our long-range sanctions plan is being fully implemented. Today I spoke about this with Magyar, the commander of the SBU Robert Brovdy. He clearly understands what to do. Thank you. Tomorrow we will talk with the combat commanders. Yevheniy Khmara will perform the duties of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine. He headed the Special Operations Center "Alpha" of the SBU, which is the most effective in destroying the occupiers at the front. It is "Alpha" that is always number one in monthly results. Khmara was responsible for long-range operations of the Security Service of Ukraine. We agreed that Khmara will also control the long-range operations of the Security Forces - this is a priority. He knows exactly what Ukraine needs, and he can also control the internal situation in the components of the Defense Forces: he has sufficient security experience to prevent things that are shameful. Now we have discussed with Serhiy Koretsky the legal procedures to ensure this appointment and the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. And tomorrow we will talk with Kirill Budanov and our diplomatic team about restarting Ukrainian foreign missions. Ukrainian embassies should be very effective and they will be.
One more thing.
Today, Keir Starmer was in Ukraine. I thanked him on behalf of all of us, on behalf of the entire state, for his leadership, for his constant support. Today, there is a new defense package from Britain and Sweden – 300 million euros to ensure that Gripens will work in our skies faster. Britain is with Ukraine. This is important.
I had a good meeting today with the Turkish Foreign Minister - support is also important. Turkey confirms that it will do everything to hold a meeting at the leadership level to end this war. Every day we fully ensure international work so that Ukraine can hold on and defend itself. We must do everything so that the result of our defense is peace. Real peace, worthy peace, guaranteed peace. We will definitely achieve this.
Glory to Ukraine!
