Special attention is paid to expanding veteran services, providing material assistance to the Defenders of Ukraine, improving the health of children, and supporting talented youth.
"The "Space for Caring for Veterans" has been launched in the relocated Siverskodonetsk City Multi-Profile Hospital, which operates in the city of Ukrainka in the Kyiv region. The new barrier-free space will provide comprehensive support for servicemen, veterans and their family members during treatment and rehabilitation, providing consulting, psychological, social and legal support," said Oleksiy Kharchenko, the head of the Luhansk region, during a weekly briefing.
He thanked the Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, Vitaliy Kim, who participated in the opening of the "Care Cabinet", for his attention to the region.
Oleksiy Kharchenko emphasized that systematic work on social support for military personnel, veterans, their families, children, and the development of humanitarian, medical, youth, and sports initiatives continues constantly.
Thus, this week, the head of the regional state administration signed an order to award regional scholarships to 34 promising and leading athletes of the Luhansk region in the second half of 2026. Scholarships will be received by athletes of Olympic and non-Olympic sports, as well as athletes with disabilities who successfully represent the region at all-Ukrainian and international competitions.
Representative of Luhansk Region Karina Ignatusha took part in the inaugural meeting of the Chamber of Regional Youth Congresses of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine, where the priorities of the new advisory body were determined and its leadership was elected.

Separately, 16 community residents who were called up for mobilization or those who signed a military service contract for the first time received another 695 thousand hryvnias.
In addition, the Lysychansk Military Medical Academy has begun accepting applications for a one-time grant to families of military personnel to prepare their children for the new school year. The payment is 2,500 hryvnias for each school-age child.
The Kreminsk community has allocated over 347 thousand hryvnias in material assistance to servicemen and their families. The funds are intended for treatment, rehabilitation, support for a person released from captivity, payments for public holidays, and assistance to servicemen raising minor children.
The Rubizhna community continues to implement the program "Children are the Heart of the Community". Another 53 children received funding for health improvement, recreation and rehabilitation for a total of 530 thousand hryvnias. Since the beginning of the summer, the corresponding program has already covered 590 children, for which 5.9 million hryvnias have been allocated.
Support for community residents continues in other areas as well. In the Siverskodonetsk community, another 17 people received almost 140 thousand hryvnia in aid for treatment under the "Care" program.
At the same time, 24 children from the Milivska community went to a health camp in the Lviv region, where a two-week vacation with a rich sports, creative, and excursion program was organized for them.
The implementation of these initiatives demonstrates the consistent work of authorities at all levels to support military personnel, veterans, children, youth, and residents of the Luhansk region.
