The Security Service systematically prosecutes enemy accomplices, collaborators, and traitors involved in the organization and holding of the occupation pseudo-referendum in Luhansk Oblast in September 2022.
According to materials from SBU investigators, 146 individuals have been reported suspected of crimes against national security. 13 perpetrators have already been sentenced in real and absentia. Another 120 criminal proceedings are pending in courts.
Among those involved are leaders of the terrorist organization "LPR", functionaries of the so-called "electoral commission", pseudo-deputies, members and heads of "polling stations", as well as other persons involved in the preparation and conduct of the "voting" at gunpoint.
Thus, this summer, a resident of Luhansk was sentenced in absentia to 15 years in prison. At the time of the "referendum", she held the position of "deputy chairman of the LPR public council", and is now a "deputy" of the occupation pseudo-parliament.
She initiated an "appeal" to Pasichnyk and the "People's Council of the LPR" calling for a "vote," after which the occupiers launched a large-scale campaign.
In addition, collaborators from the Svatyivskyi and Starobilskyi districts, who participated in the work of "election commissions" and campaigned for local residents to support the region's accession to the Russian Federation, were sentenced in absentia to 10 years in prison.
A verdict has also come into force against the general director of the largest printing company in Luhansk, Press-Express.
According to the SBU, in September 2022, she organized the printing of over 1 million 360 thousand ballots for a fake "referendum". In addition, the management forced employees to participate in the pseudo-voting, and the enterprise itself systematically provided the occupiers with propaganda and blank products. The director was sentenced in absentia to 5 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Work is ongoing to identify and bring to criminal responsibility other enemy accomplices who assisted the occupiers in seizing the territory of Luhansk region.
Operational and investigative measures are carried out by the Main Directorate of the SBU in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural guidance of the Luhansk Regional Prosecutor's Office.
