According to the evidence base of the Security Service, another traitor who fought against the Defense Forces in the Luhansk region as part of the Russian armed groups was sentenced in absentia to life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

According to the investigation, the 51-year-old resident of Kadiivka has been participating in hostilities against the ATO/JFO forces since 2014. After the start of the full-scale war, the attacker joined the "6th Separate Motorized Rifle Regiment" of the 2nd Army Corps of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation.

As a mortar commander, he stormed Mykhailivka, Popasne, Lysychansk, Severskodonetsk, Rubizhne, and Kreminna with the Rashists.

Based on the evidence collected, the court found the perpetrator guilty of the crimes committed under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

- Part 2 of Article 111 (treason committed under martial law);

- Part 1 of Article 258-3 (participation in a terrorist group or terrorist organization).

Since the convict is hiding in the temporarily occupied part of the territory of Ukraine, comprehensive measures are underway to bring him to justice.

The investigation was conducted by SBU officers in Cherkasy region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office.
