"The territory of Luhansk region was subjected to 28 enemy attacks, the absolute majority of which were drone attacks. In particular, 20 strikes were recorded using FPV drones and UAV drops, four attacks from automatic grenade launchers, three from mortars, and one using barrel artillery. Also, in the Lyman direction, the enemy tried to penetrate our defenses six times," notes Oleksiy Kharchenko, Head of the Luhansk Regional State Administration.
A large-scale demographic crisis is being recorded in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, as a result of which the number of Ukrainian population has decreased by 60 percent. According to experts from the Pavlo Lysyansky Institute for Strategic Studies and Security, the rapid extinction of local residents continues in the occupation, as mortality rates there currently exceed the birth rate by five to six times.
The occupation administration of Lysychansk officially confirmed the absence of an airstrike warning system in the city, admitting that there are currently no sirens or loudspeakers. Despite the fact that the city is in a zone of constant threat, the restoration of the system is planned only for 2029-2030. The local “authorities” promise to introduce emergency SMS messages as a possible alternative. However, mobile communications and the Internet have been absent in the city since the start of hostilities in 2022. This creates a paradoxical and extremely dangerous situation: residents are left without both basic communications and traditional shelling warning systems for at least the next few years.
