The Children's Service of the Siverskodonetsk City Military Administration appeals to the legal representatives of orphans and children deprived of parental care who are in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine or have left for the territory of the Russian Federation.
In the context of the ongoing armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the issue of protecting the rights and legitimate interests of children is of particular importance. Currently, there are risks of actions by the occupying authorities that could lead to violations of the rights of Ukrainian children, changes in their legal status, personal data, civil and national identity, as well as obstacles to the further return of children to Ukraine.
We emphasize that every child has the right to protection, preservation of his or her identity, citizenship, family ties, and upbringing in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine. That is why we call on the legal representatives of children to take all possible measures to return children to the territory controlled by the Government of Ukraine.
For families who have difficulty organizing their departure or need assistance, the state has provided support mechanisms. Citizens can receive consulting, legal, organizational and, if necessary, logistical assistance in returning their children.
For questions regarding the return of children who are in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine or on the territory of the Russian Federation, please contact the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine:
