It is important for Luhansk Region to preserve and develop what has been created over the years, despite the full-scale war and the occupation of a significant part of the region.
This was stated by the Head of the Luhansk Regional State Administration, Oleksiy Kharchenko, during the celebrations for the Day of Physical Culture and Sports.
The head of the region noted the support of the sports sector from the regional authorities, thanks to which athletes and coaches have the opportunity to participate in competitions and continue their professional activities.
The regional authorities also continue to support families raising orphans and children deprived of parental care. On the occasion of Adoption Day, representatives of the Luhansk Regional State Administration, together with the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Lithuania in the Luhansk region Robertas Gabulas, visited relocated family-type orphanages, foster families, and the small group home "Svitanok" in the Kirovohrad region. During the meetings, they also discussed living conditions, daily needs of families, and issues that require additional support.
It should be noted that almost 4.5 thousand children from Luhansk region were covered by health improvement and recreation this year. For these purposes, local budgets have allocated 34.2 million hryvnias, of which 33.5 million hryvnias were allocated for the purchase of travel vouchers. Children from Luhansk region rested and had health improvement in Ukraine and abroad, in particular under state and international programs.
Communities in Luhansk region continue to provide financial assistance to servicemen and their families. The Lysychansk community has allocated another 415 thousand hryvnias in assistance to 18 servicemen. Since the beginning of the year, such support in the community has been provided to 160 servicemen for a total amount of 3 million 455 thousand hryvnias.
Separately, the Lysychansk community sent almost 550 thousand hryvnias to mobilized soldiers and servicemen who signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the first time. In total, since the beginning of the year, 78 mobilized soldiers and 13 volunteers have received such assistance in the amount of 3 million 570 thousand hryvnias.
The Rubizhna community, within the framework of the program "Community - to Defenders", has allocated 270 thousand hryvnias in assistance to 12 applicants. The funds were received by servicemen participating in measures to ensure the defense of Ukraine, who are on leave, who were injured, as well as a family member of a missing Defender and a person called up for military service during mobilization. Since the beginning of the year, decisions on the payment of assistance under this program have been made for 420 Defenders and their family members for a total amount of 10.52 million hryvnias.
