The Security Service calls on residents of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine not to participate in the illegal elections that the Kremlin plans to hold from September 18 to 20 of this year.

The Gauleiter of the Russian occupation administrations, led by curators from Moscow, are once again planning to involve the residents of the TOT in a fake plebiscite.

In this way, the Russian Federation is trying to legitimize the Kremlin regime in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and gather “votes” in support of the pro-government political forces of the aggressor country.

Thus, during previous “expressions of will,” the racists involved residents of the TOT in the occupation “election committees” and held mass agitation events in favor of the Russian Federation.

It is documented how the enemy in various ways encouraged Ukrainian citizens to participate in the pseudo-referendum that took place in September 2022 in the temporarily occupied part of the territory of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia, and Kherson regions.

In 2023, racists held pseudo-elections on TOT to regional authorities of the aggressor country.

At that time, representatives of the occupation administrations of the Russian Federation also included local residents in “election commissions” and campaign teams, which called on citizens to “vote” in the interests of the Kremlin.

The SBU emphasizes that such events are illegal, and participation in their organization is subject to criminal liability, in particular, Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (participation in the organization and holding of illegal elections and/or referendums in a temporarily occupied territory or public calls for the holding of such illegal elections and/or referendums in a temporarily occupied territory).

The sanction of the article provides for a penalty of up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The Security Service once again calls on residents of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine not to become a tool of the Kremlin regime in the war against our state.

Don't help the occupiers legitimize their presence!

Do not help the enemy establish its order on Ukrainian soil!
