The past week was marked by two significant events for the future of Luhansk Region.
A regional forum “From Losses to Compensation: Effective Tools for Relocated and Affected Enterprises” was held at a high expert level on the use of the International Loss Register as a key mechanism for recording losses and their subsequent compensation, and the development of an international compensation mechanism involving legal instruments and working with frozen assets of the Russian Federation.
Currently, the needs for the restoration of the Luhansk region are estimated at $32.9 billion, and the total amount of damage is about $15.5 billion.
The Luhansk Regional Youth Congress was also created, which included representatives of the region's communities aged 16 to 24.
The Congress was chaired by Karina Ignatusha, and delegates will represent the interests of youth and participate in the formation of government decisions and the work of consultative platforms. This youth advisory body will become a platform for developing leadership, implementing initiatives, and strengthening youth participation in governance processes.
This was announced by the head of the Luhansk OAV, Oleksiy Kharchenko, during a weekly briefing.
At the same time, systematic financial support for the Defenders of Ukraine continues in the communities of the region.
In particular, the Siverskodonetsk City Military Administration sent 460 thousand hryvnias in assistance to 20 servicemen within the framework of the relevant comprehensive support program, and in the Novoaydarsk community another 170 thousand hryvnias were paid to 13 servicemen, three people with disabilities as a result of the war, and the child of a deceased defender. In total, 104 recipients have already been supported here for over 1 million hryvnias since the beginning of the year.
