The Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Oleksiy Kharchenko, joined key public and analytical activities aimed at community development, social cohesion, and support for residents of the region during the war.
During the weekly briefing, he informed about the issues discussed at the expert conference on European cohesion policy and regional development, where he emphasized that cohesion policy is a tool for improving the quality of life of citizens, developing infrastructure, creating jobs and preserving the identity of Luhansk residents. Special attention was paid to the issue of restoring and supporting frontline territories in the context of Ukraine's European integration processes.
Oleksiy Kharchenko emphasized the results of the inspection of the conditions for the recreation of children from Luhansk Region at the Sokolyata Bukovel facility in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, where children from the region's communities are resting this year within the framework of the regional recreation and recreation program for 2025–2027. The conditions for children's camping fully comply with the standards for organizing recreation declared during the tender.
The head of the region outlined the key challenges for the Luhansk region, announced during the presentation of the annual report of the Human Rights Ombudsman. In particular, in the field of protection of housing and social rights of internally displaced persons. It was also emphasized that the issue of housing remains one of the most urgent for the region.
Among other social initiatives in communities of Luhansk region, the Siverskodonetsk city military administration made payments to 36 servicemen for a total of 780,000 hryvnias within the framework of the Defenders support programs. The Bilovodsk community provided material assistance to 15 residents for a total of 191,000 hryvnias, including military personnel, persons with disabilities as a result of the war, citizens in need of treatment, and a large family. The Lysychansk city military administration reported the payment of 499,000 hryvnias to 65 community residents who found themselves in difficult life circumstances due to illnesses and surgical interventions, and in total, since the beginning of the year, 396 people have received treatment assistance for more than 2.8 million hryvnias within the framework of the current social protection program for the population.
As part of the celebration of the 88th anniversary of the formation of the Luhansk region in Kyiv, he took part in the football tournament "Unconquered Luhansk Region", where nine teams of law enforcement agencies, regional institutions and teams of internally displaced persons competed. The victory in the tournament was won by the team of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Oleksiy Kharchenko also took part in awarding the participants and noted the importance of forming new sports traditions in the Luhansk region.
