Luhansk region: comprehensive support for IDPs - families of Defenders and socially vulnerable categories of the population

During a weekly briefing, the head of the Luhansk region, Oleksiy Kharchenko, informed about the work of the regional state administration to support residents of the region - internally displaced persons, primarily privileged categories.

In particular, this week he visited family-type orphanages from Luhansk region, which are currently located in the city of Odesa. During the trip, Oleksiy Kharchenko met with the families of Aleshka, Biletsky, Ponedilchenko, and Nesterenko, and handed them 3 kW generators needed during blackouts, as well as sweets, stationery, and clothing provided by charitable foundations.

Separately, the issue of children's health and further educational prospects was discussed, as well as providing housing for the Nesterenko family, particularly taking into account the fact that other families have already received their own homes at the expense of a state subvention.

In the city of Oleksandria, Kirovohrad region, a meeting of representatives of the Department of Social Protection of the Population of the Luhansk Regional State Administration with displaced persons from the Luhansk region was held, during which citizens raised issues of material assistance, housing, child benefits and pensions, some of which were promptly resolved. Humanitarian kits were also issued to the most vulnerable categories of the population. The remaining issues will be processed within the time limits specified by law.

Oleksiy Kharchenko spoke about the decisions of communities to assist IDPs.

Thus, the Rubizhanska community continues to implement the program of support for military personnel "Community - to Defenders", within the framework of which a decision was made to pay 630 thousand hryvnias to 23 defenders. And since the beginning of the year, assistance has already been provided to 219 military personnel and their family members for a total amount of 5 million 890 thousand hryvnias.

In the Novoaydarska community, 19 Defenders were provided with 190 thousand hryvnias in assistance in April, including to military personnel and persons with disabilities as a result of hostilities, within the framework of the current social support program for 2026–2027.

The Lysychansk community also provided support to 65 residents who found themselves in difficult life circumstances due to illnesses and surgeries, in the amount of 407 thousand hryvnias, and since the beginning of the year, 331 people have already received such assistance for over 2 million 369 thousand hryvnias.
