After the full-scale invasion and occupation of the city, a significant part of the business community of the Siverskodonetsk urban community relocated to safer regions of Ukraine. For entrepreneurs who were forced to change location and start a business in a new place, the issue of accessibility is one of the priorities. This is not only compliance with state regulations, but also a demonstration of respect for customers and the community that accepted them.
The Siverskodonetsk City Military Administration reports that when developing facilities at new locations, managers are required to ensure unhindered access for people with disabilities and other groups of people with limited mobility.
In order to assist business representatives in implementing measures to make buildings and structures barrier-free, the legislation provides for a simplified procedure for installing barrier-free elements, namely:
- the customer has the right to begin work on installing means of unhindered access for persons with disabilities and other groups of the population with reduced mobility to objects or their reasonable adaptation after approval of intentions by the authorized body for urban planning and architecture or tacit approval of intentions by such body;
- work on installing means of unhindered access for persons with disabilities and other groups of the population with reduced mobility to facilities is carried out without documents giving the right to perform construction work, and in the absence of a document certifying the right to ownership or use of a land plot, in compliance with the requirements of the legislation, building codes and regulations;
- means of unhindered access for persons with disabilities and other groups of the population with reduced mobility to facilities or their reasonable adaptation are not subject to acceptance into operation.
The presence of ramps, regulatory doorways, and tactile elements is not only a legal requirement, but also a guarantee of the accessibility of your services for all categories of citizens.
