Go to the Future 2026: a charity race in support of veterans who have lost limbs. Run for your compatriot Ivan Artyukh!

National Accessibility Week is underway. Accessibility is about living without limitations, but also about ethics and mutual respect.

On June 7, Kyiv will host an annual charity race in support of veterans who have lost limbs — “Go to the Future 2026” from the Future for Ukraine Foundation. You can participate not only in Kyiv, but also from any corner of Ukraine — online. The main goal of the race is to unite as many people as possible around the support of veterans.

Today, thousands of military and civilians live with the consequences of war: amputations, loss of vision, hearing, injuries. Equal treatment and support from society help them return to a full-fledged active social life faster. This is what the “Go to the Future 2026” race is about - to create a future through joint actions, where the perception of people's differences is a basic value.

Among the participants in the race is a defender from Severskodonetsk, Ivan Artyukh , a 25-year-old champion of international competitions who lost his leg in battles near Chasovye Yar.

Before the full-scale invasion, Ivan worked as an investigator in the police of his native Siverskodonetsk. In 2022, he joined the Luhansk-1 National Police Battalion, which later became the Lut brigade. He fought in the Luhansk region, participated in the de-occupation of the Kharkiv region, and the battles for Bakhmut and Klishchiivka.

In April 2024, near Chasovye Yar, the soldier received an explosive wound to his right leg from an enemy drone. Due to gangrene, he had to undergo 15 operations, but three weeks after that, Ivan began looking for ways to return to sports.

“There has always been sport in my life: running, football, swimming, gym three times a week,” he says. The first step was playing indoor football in the FC “Shakhtar Stalev” team. And just two months after receiving prosthetics under a grant program from the Government of Iceland at the Future for Ukraine Foundation, Ivan returned to big sports. Today, he has 4 gold medals in para swimming at the international veteran competitions Air Force and Marine Corps Trials 2026. The defender dreams of participating in the Paralympic Games in 2028, because he knows from his own experience that sometimes from a dream to victory — only a few months of daily work on himself.

That is why on June 7, Ivan Artyukh will participate in the Relay for Unity charity race Go to the Future 2026 to support other veterans on the path of adaptation and recovery after the loss of limbs.

Support Ivan Artyukh and other veterans — join the “Go to the Future 2026” race wherever it is convenient for you!

  • On June 7, go for a run near your house, in a nearby park, or anywhere, take your friends and cover your own distance.
  • Post a photo with the hashtag #GoToTheFuture2026 and the caption “I'm running for a fellow countryman,” and the foundation will publish them on its social networks.

This will be a powerful support for Ivan and other veterans who lost limbs in the war and are returning to active life.
