Today is the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster

Chernobyl in 1986 was a painful lesson for humanity on how criminal negligence and outright lies can bring the planet to the brink of extinction. At that time, the Soviet regime tried to hide the truth, and these lies killed faster than radiation itself.

By shielding humanity, the liquidators, including the people of Siverskodonetsk, became a human shield for protection. This feat in the fight against the invisible enemy gave humanity a chance for the future, giving time to realize the scale of the tragedy and develop methods of protection against the radiation threat.

Today, 40 years later, we are once again faced with an invisible death, but this time it is not accidental. It is deliberate nuclear blackmail by Russia.

Chernobyl marked the beginning of the end of the Soviet regime. The Russian Federation is following the same path of self-destruction through terror and disinformation.

The contamination of 3/4 of Europe with Chernobyl cesium in 1986 is not just a statistic. It is a reminder that radiation knows no borders, and the world has no right to a “second Chernobyl.”
