Results of the summer health campaign and international partnership of Luhansk region – weekly briefing by Oleksiy Kharchenko

Head of the Luhansk Regional State Administration Oleksiy Kharchenko continues active work on the development of international and defense cooperation, he announced during the weekly final briefing.

Thus, on September 22, he met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Ukraine, Ms. Inga Stanitė-Tolochkienė. The meeting was also attended by the Honorary Consul of Lithuania in the Luhansk region, Robertas Gabulas. And the very next day, he spoke online with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Poland, Vasyl Bodnar. During the meetings, the parties discussed the prospects for developing cooperation in the areas of healthcare, education and culture, support for veterans and internally displaced persons, organization of children's recreation, and intermunicipal partnership. Oleksiy Kharchenko emphasized the importance of such cooperation for strengthening the humanitarian dimension of international interaction in the region.

Oleksiy Kharchenko emphasized active support for military units. This week, the Defense Council of the Luhansk region approved the allocation of UAH 50 million for the needs of the Defense and Security Forces. During the meeting, eight requests from military units for the purchase of UAVs, electronic warfare equipment, spare parts and vehicles for a total amount of UAH 81.461 million were considered. Three requests were sent for further processing.

As the head of the regional state administration noted, the communities of the region are in first place in terms of support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine: more than 30% of the communities' budgets and almost 20% of the regional budget, which amounts to about UAH 800 million, are directed to defense purposes.

Regarding social support and health care for children.

This summer, 38 children from the Lozno-Oleksandrivska community rested in various camps, 17 of them children from preferential categories. For five children, vouchers were purchased to the institution "Vodogray" based on the sanatorium "Karpatski zori", one child rested in the camp "Mountain Adventures", two children recovered in the psychological support camp "Mayachki" of the charitable organization "SOS Children's Villages". Another 30 children - in a summer camp based on the hub at the Lozno-Oleksandrivska SVA.

Children from the Bilolutsk community recovered in the Ivano-Frankivsk region and abroad: six vouchers were purchased to the “Sokolyata Bukovel” camp, another 14 to the “Ivano-Frankivsk Tourist” medical and health complex. The total amount of funding was UAH 505,974.

In the Novoaydar community, 75 children from privileged categories had the opportunity to improve their health: 23 children rested at the “Malyatko” sanatorium and the “Bukovel” camp, seven – at the “Artek” MDC, 10 – at a summer camp in Uzhhorod, 18 – at foreign camps in Latvia, Poland, Italy, Germany, Estonia, Austria and the UK. The campaign was financed from the local budget in the amount of 347.5 thousand UAH.

The Popasnyan community provided health care to over 388 children, of whom 115 were children from privileged categories. 14 children enjoyed holidays abroad, including in France, Latvia, and Poland. 150 children enjoyed health care in other summer camps and hubs, and another 109 children enjoyed other forms of recreation.

This summer, the Starobilsk community allocated about half a million hryvnias for children's health improvement. The children rested in the Vodogray camps in the Hutsul region and Shayani in Transcarpathia, and four children from privileged categories visited the Artek Children's Center. The summer camp also included a thematic shift from the national-patriotic school "With Ukraine in the Heart!"

The Aydar SVA organized the rehabilitation of 51 children from the Novopskov community. 47 children from privileged categories rested in Transcarpathia at the Synevyr Lake facility, one child of a combatant visited the Artek Children's Center, and two children from privileged categories went to Poland.

In the Rubizhanska community, almost half a million hryvnias were provided to 18 servicemen or their families: 14 servicemen received 420 thousand hryvnias each, and 10 thousand hryvnias were paid separately to the wounded, persons with disabilities, and family members of the fallen defenders. In total, 257 Defenders have received monetary assistance in the amount of 7,190 thousand hryvnias since the beginning of the year.
