For Luhansk residents, the Constitution is what defines us as Ukrainians - Head of Luhansk Region Oleksiy Kharchenko

Representatives of the region's communities gathered at the Luhansk Regional Academic Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater, which has survived several relocations and has become one of the symbols of the invincibility of the Luhansk region, to solemnly celebrate the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of Ukraine.

The event opened with a literary composition "The Man Who Wrote the Future," dedicated to Pylyp Orlyk, the creator of the first officially recognized Ukrainian Constitution.

"The history of the creation of our Constitution dates back to the codification of Kyivan Rus. When Independent Ukraine adopted its Fundamental Law, centuries of Ukrainian political thought stood behind it. For the people of Luhansk, the Constitution is what defines us as Ukrainians. We firmly know: the constitutional order will definitely be restored on every piece of our native land. The Ukrainian flag will again fly over Luhansk, Lysychansk and Starobilsk, Svatove and Rubizhne. Law and justice will return, and the rights of every person who suffered from the war will be protected and restored," the head of the Luhansk region, Oleksiy Kharchenko, addressed the participants of the event.

In a solemn atmosphere, he presented state awards and regional distinctions to Luhansk residents who, with their work, professionalism, and dedication, strengthen our state, help it survive and develop even in the most difficult times.

Also, in a solemn atmosphere, the head of the region presented the certificate of Ambassador of Luhansk Region to Hero of Ukraine Volodymyr Zhemchugov.

"I remember 2014, when my native part of Luhansk region - the city of Khrustalny - was occupied. Then it was unclear to many: who are we Luhansk people - traitors, "separatists" or patriots? It is very important that everyone knows that Luhansk was, is and will be Ukrainian!" - commented Mr. Volodymyr on the decision to become an ambassador.

The artists of the Luhansk Regional Academic Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater presented their talent to the participants of the event, performing classical and modern works by Ukrainian composers.

Despite difficult trials, the temporary occupation of our native cities and villages, and forced dispersion throughout the country and the world, we remain a single, indivisible community.
