Higher education institutions in Luhansk region continue to expand international partnerships. On July 15, cooperation agreements were signed between the Marie Curie-Skłodowska University, located in the Polish city of Lublin, and two universities in Luhansk region: Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University and Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University.
Along with this, an Agreement on the creation of the international academic network LUkraNet was signed.
The LUkraNet network, whose full name is Lublin-Ukraine Academic Network, was created to unite Ukrainian and Polish higher education institutions in order to build long-term partnerships. Within the framework of this initiative, joint scientific research, preparation of international projects, exchange of professional experience, as well as the organization of educational events, including conferences and seminars, are planned. A separate important direction will be the development of academic mobility programs for both students and teachers. Participation in the network opens up new opportunities for Ukrainian universities to integrate into the European educational and scientific space.
The basis for signing these documents was negotiations initiated back in January by the Department for International Cooperation of the Luhansk Regional State Administration. During the first working online meeting, representatives of the Polish university and universities of Luhansk region discussed key vectors of interaction in the fields of education and science, as well as prospects for joint participation in international grant programs.
"The concluded agreements officially consolidate the agreements reached and create a reliable basis for the implementation of joint international initiatives, strengthening scientific ties and expanding prospects for the entire academic community of Luhansk region. We thank Polish educators for effective cooperation," said Oleksiy Kharchenko, Head of the Luhansk Regional State Administration.
