  • "Help on Bee Wings" program from the NGO "All-Ukrainian Brotherhood of Beekeepers of Ukraine"

Assistance to Ukrainian beekeepers to restore apiaries, rebuild their beekeeping farms that were destroyed and devastated by military actions. For the partial restoration of apiaries, the Program provides for the provision of beekeepers with appropriate equipment, supplies, etc. For beekeeper families, the Program provides for the provision of humanitarian assistance for partial settlement and life in a safe shelter, as well as support for women, children and elderly parents of beekeepers who are forced to leave their homes and seek safe shelter, and assistance and support for beekeepers who have become soldiers.

  • Subsidies to support livestock farming for farmers

Farmers can submit an application through the State Agrarian Register to receive one of the following special budget subsidies - for keeping cows or goats and/or sheep. The special budget subsidy will be provided in accordance with the Procedure for the use of funds provided in the state budget to support farms and other producers of agricultural products, approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 16.08.2022 No. 918, in particular:

- for farmers who own from 3 to 100 cows (of all productivity levels), a payment of UAH 7,000 per head is envisaged;

- for farmers who keep a breeding stock of goats and/or sheep from 5 to 500 heads - in the amount of 2 thousand UAH per head.

  • 50% compensation for costs of restoration and construction of land reclamation systems

The Government has approved a decision on compensation for the cost of restoration and construction of land reclamation systems for water user organizations. The relevant resolution dated 30.05.2024 No. 628 “On Amendments to the Procedure for the Use of Funds Provided in the State Budget for Providing State Support to Agricultural Producers Using Land Reclamation and Water User Organizations” was adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

The document was developed by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

According to the resolution, agricultural producers who use reclaimed land can receive up to 50 percent compensation for the cost of carrying out work on the reconstruction and modernization of existing or construction of new reclamation systems.

District administrations can receive up to 50 percent compensation for the rehabilitation of pumping stations.

The amount of assistance for agricultural producers will be no more than 26,500 hryvnias per 1 hectare of cultivated land on which hydrotechnical land reclamation is carried out, excluding the cost of irrigation machines.

The budget subsidy is provided for the implementation of works and the commissioning of land reclamation systems for the period from November 1, 2023 to October 31, 2024.

Agricultural producers submit an application for budget funds and supporting documents through the State Agrarian Register.

  • The state increases compensation for the construction of livestock farms in front-line regions to 50%

    The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a decision to strengthen support for the livestock industry in front-line territories. The adoption of the resolution "On Amendments to the Procedure for the Use of Funds Provided in the State Budget for State Support for the Development of Livestock and Processing of Agricultural Products" is aimed at expanding state support for agricultural producers and developing the processing of agricultural products and livestock.

    The amendments provide for an increase in the amount of partial reimbursement for the cost of building livestock farms for keeping cattle in front-line areas from 25% to 50%. This approach will make the construction of new facilities cheaper, contribute to the increase in milk production and value-added products, and increase the economic sustainability of communities by creating new jobs.

    The decision will provide an additional incentive for agricultural producers who invest in the restoration and modernization of livestock farms and processing facilities. The increased share of compensation will contribute to more active investment attraction and acceleration of the restoration of production in regions located near the combat zone.

  • Compensation program for 25% of the cost of Ukrainian agricultural machinery and equipment

The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine announced the official launch of the program of partial state compensation for the cost of Ukrainian-made agricultural machinery and equipment, resumed by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

From now on, when purchasing equipment from manufacturers on the List, farmers will be able to get back 25% of the cost of this equipment. The initiative is intended to support national manufacturers and stimulate demand for products and goods made in Ukraine.

  • Financial assistance to agricultural households and smallholder farmers from Mercy Corps International, with support from the Howard G. Buffett Foundation

Mercy Corps, an international humanitarian organization, with the support of the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, has launched the Ukraine Agriculture Support Program. The goal of this program is to help restore agricultural activities and overcome the consequences of the war for local families affected and forcibly displaced by the war, as well as for farmers and businesses closely related to agriculture.

The average amount of financial assistance is $3,000 in hryvnia equivalent at the current exchange rate of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU). The amount of assistance provided may be higher or lower depending on the needs of households.

Participants should implement research and actions aimed at improving the quantification of climate risks and their main drivers; integrating data from different sources, including digital tools and artificial intelligence; increasing the preparedness and resilience of communities and sectors; developing methodologies and tools for sub-European, national and regional analysis; and contributing to future editions of EUCRA.

  • Financial assistance for medium-sized agricultural enterprises

The international humanitarian organization Mercy Corps, in partnership with local

organizations is expanding the Agricultural Support Program of Ukraine. The initiative is aimed at assisting medium-sized agribusiness and related businesses that have been affected by the war and whose recovery is critical to the farming activities of households, other farmers, and the livelihoods of the local community.

Financial support under the program, which will average $150,000, may be directed toward replacing destroyed or damaged agricultural machinery, implements, equipment, buildings, etc.

The NGO "Foundation of Women Beekeepers" is conducting a 2-day practical training with a visit to the apiary as part of the implementation of the new educational model in beekeeping of the ReBeWo project.
