The National Health Service of Ukraine continues to support medical teams working in frontline regions and regions with high security burden.

The National Health Insurance Fund of Ukraine paid over UAH 524.9 million to healthcare institutions in the first quarter of 2026 under the package "Ensuring the preservation of human resources to provide medical care to the population in areas of active hostilities."

178 healthcare providers in 9 regions received funds:

  • Kharkiv > 143.8 million UAH;
  • Odesa > 95.7 million UAH;
  • Kherson > 65.9 million UAH;
  • Sumy > 54.5 million UAH;
  • Zaporizhzhia > 50.2 million UAH;
  • Mykolaivska > 46.1 million UAH;
  • Dnipropetrovsk > 29.7 million UAH;
  • Chernihiv > 22.5 million UAH;
  • Donetsk > 16.5 million UAH.

The package provides for additional monthly funding for institutions based on each employee. This strengthens the payroll and allows institutions to flexibly allocate funds to support medical workers.

Timely payments from the state through the National Health Insurance Fund are one of the key tools for ensuring the sustainability of the medical system in wartime conditions — so that patients continue to have access to the necessary medical care regardless of the security situation.
