I wish you health, dear Ukrainians!
First – Special Operations Forces. Today is Special Operations Forces Day, I congratulated the soldiers, I am grateful to each of our special forces for their bravery. Special Operations Forces are truly one of the strongest, most glorious and simply cool elements of Ukrainian defense. Thank you! Thank you, guys, for the meeting. Thank you, guys, for the embroidery!
There was also a detailed meeting today with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, and the Chief of the General Staff, Andriy Gnatov. I agreed with them on our new long-range operations - this is what is needed so that Russia feels that they will have to pay for the war with their losses. The Russian oil industry will continue to decline if Russia chooses war. And we see that there are signs that the Russian political leadership is looking for ways to compensate for losses at the front - their occupation group has now decreased. They are sending out so-called mobilization orders in larger numbers, calling Russians to so-called military meetings, and adding other ways to continue this actually hidden mobilization in larger numbers. We will provide information to our partners, this is a clear argument that there is not enough pressure on Russia.
There was a report from the SBU – Major General Khmara – including on internal security here in Ukraine. We are continuing operations against those who chose not Ukraine, but aid to the enemy. Ukraine will be tough with them.
A few more things.
Today I spoke with Ursula von der Leyen - I am grateful for the support. Air defense is the first priority. We are also preparing a special format with the European Union - Drone Deal, this is a very promising format. It is impossible to imagine the security of Europe without Ukraine.
Representatives of the United States Congress were also in Ukraine today on a visit. It is important that America supports Ukraine and that American representatives are here in Ukraine, they see with their own eyes what is happening, what the threats are. Especially after the Russians inflicted a particularly brutal massive blow on Sunday night.
This week I prepared a special letter – a letter to the President of the United States and Congress. And yesterday the letter was already sent to institutions in Washington. It is rare that the leaders of another state address the President and Congress of the United States of America in this way, in a letter, simultaneously. But the situation now is this: we need to act, act promptly, act effectively. It is important that America hears Ukraine. We understand that a lot of global attention is now on the war in Iran. We also need to stop the war here in Europe, a very bloody war that has been going on for five years at a full-scale level. And the sooner we can provide more protection against ballistic missiles, the sooner we can make diplomacy work. As long as Russia relies on missiles, its interest in diplomacy is not genuine. We have to fix this. And we can fix this only together, with America. Ukraine is grateful to America for all its support. It will be even more grateful for a decent peace and guaranteed security. All this is possible if there is enough determination. Thank you to everyone who helps us!
Glory to Ukraine!
