Dear Ukrainians!
Some important things for today. Together with Prime Minister Yulia Svirydenko, we spoke with the commander of the Air Force about the situation in some of our cities, our communities near the front - about the shelling that is almost constant there. The situation in Kherson is especially difficult: the Russians have organized a virtual safari against people there. We need to significantly strengthen defense, more interceptors, more electronic warfare equipment, more of our crews are needed right there, in the city.
There was also a report from the team dealing with regional policy – Deputy Prime Minister Kuleba and Deputy Head of the Office Mykyta. We are partially able to respond to the challenges that exist in the occupied territory of the Kherson region – in Oleshki, in the villages of the region. The situation is very difficult in this part of the occupied territory – it is very difficult to evacuate people. And it is important that international organizations – all those who can help with this – are involved and are active. We discussed the details of this process. I am grateful to everyone who is trying to help: our partners, the regional authorities of the Kherson region, the Ombudsman, the government team.
Of course, today we had our long-range sanctions – sanctions against Russia for strikes on Ukraine. In particular, the Orenburg region: more than one and a half thousand kilometers from Ukraine, the facilities of the Russian gas industry. Ukraine said that we would act in a mirror manner in response to Russia. We offered silence. Unfortunately, after relative silence for three days, there were again strikes by the shaheeds, again aerial bombs. Frontline activity remains high. Therefore, we are responding. And we continue to work with our partners to push for diplomacy – to push for peace, no matter how difficult it may be.
I want to thank our European partners today: there was a meeting at the level of national security advisors. We are gradually advancing the topic of anti-ballistic missile production in Europe, we are forming an anti-ballistic missile coalition. It is worth doing this, and now we are closer to the result than ever. 13 countries and the office of the NATO Secretary General were represented at today's meeting of countries on anti-ballistic missiles. An important, very important initiative. In general, now the Ukrainian positions on the front and in our long-range sanctions and in joint results with partners are the highest in years. We must maintain the level and achieve results. That is what we are doing. Every challenge that exists, everything that we go through, must end with one thing - that we all help Ukraine in one way or another, make our defense stronger, and make our common Ukrainian foreign policy positions more advantageous. There are no victories for one person and there is no stability for someone alone. We must reach the main goal, and this is our common goal, which we will not give up - we will not give up our land, our sovereignty. I am grateful to all Ukrainians, all Ukrainians who are on this path together. Ukraine must survive the war, defend its independence and guarantee security for its people. This will definitely happen.
Glory to Ukraine!
