Senior Lieutenant of the Medical Service Yevhen Melamed died during a business trip to the city of Izyum in the Kharkiv region on May 25, 2024 due to acute cardiovascular failure. He was 46 years old.

Yevhen was born in the city of Severskodonetsk, Luhansk region. He graduated from Luhansk State Medical University, having mastered the specialty of anesthesiologist-resuscitator. He loved his profession very much, considered it his calling. He worked in the Rivne Regional Clinical Medical and Diagnostic Center named after V. Polishchuk.

During the full-scale war, from March 2023, Yevhen became an anesthesiologist, senior resident of the advanced surgical department of military unit A4615 - Military Medical Clinical Center of the Eastern Region of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He provided specialized medical assistance to military personnel in the city of Dnipro, as well as in Pokrovsk and Kurakhovo in the Donetsk region, and in Izyum in the Kharkiv region.

"My husband was a true patriot of his country. While working, he was proud that he could save the lives of soldiers. The military said that they had never met such a kind and sensitive doctor, they even took a photo with him as a souvenir. Yevhen tried to pay attention to each patient. It was difficult, he did not sleep for several days. But when human lives were at stake, there was no time to think about his own well-being. Saving the lives of his comrades, he gave his all without regret. A wonderful person, a wonderful father and husband," said his wife Natalia.

The defender was buried in Rivne.

Yevhen is survived by his wife, daughter, family and loved ones.
