Music on canvas: thematic classes were held at the Siverskodonetsk Art School on the occasion of Ukrainian Music Day

Ukrainian Music Day is celebrated on the third Saturday of September. On September 19, 2026, this Day will be held in Ukraine for the first time at the official level.

The date was chosen symbolically. It was on the third Saturday of September in 1989 in Chernivtsi that the anthem "Ukraine is Not Dead Yet" was first publicly and massively performed, a banned work at the time, at the legendary "Chervona Ruta" festival.

Events and activities for this holiday at our art school lasted throughout the week. Painting classes were held, where children were inspired by the sounds of the kobza "Drawing to the Kobza". Young artists made "Glyph - Art", where they encrypted notes and the treble clef in their works. They listened to a lecture "Ornaments of Sound" about how Ukrainian composers encoded the rhythms of folk embroideries in their works. Students also made an online exhibition of works "Music on Canvas" (see the post on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/radasever/posts/pfbid0PaHVVVod89FiAy4kZNFNt9r4ro4uPnGr7xvoRtKsp4q4Wixi2AQmE4MRqXGBFUWtl )
