02/24/2026 – on the 12th anniversary of the start of the war and the fourth anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, as a sign of deep solidarity with the Ukrainian people, the Italian Republic launched a large-scale marathon of support — "DAY OF SILENCE."
This is a unique initiative where instead of loud slogans, Culture itself speaks. The project becomes an invisible bridge of memory and support, running between all regions of Ukraine and the Ukrainian diaspora in Italy.
"Silence during war is not about silence. It is about a voice that sounds without words. Our culture has no address. It cannot be destroyed by missiles, because it lives not in buildings, but in our hearts, songs, and memory. It is where we are. It is us," the Department of Culture of the National Congress of Ukrainian Associations of Italy, which coordinates the project, notes.
Representatives of the Luhansk region presented their native region, talked about its peculiarities, the war and its consequences, and most importantly, about culture, its strength and value in this difficult time.
Our community was presented by the acting director of the Siverskodonetsk Multi-Profile Lyceum, Viktoria Kiyashko:
